Goodreads

I joined a wonderful website called Goodreads that lets you keep track of all the books in your life. There's reviews, of course. There's community groups. There's a million different lists which are curated completely by user votes. There's also a section of book recommendations which are based on what you've marked as read, or wanting to read. Basically, it's a fantastic place where you can find interesting art books, inspiring stories, distractions: whatever you're looking for!

I'm hoping that I can help with the art and business related journey of reading books, which is why I put together a list on Goodreads of every single art related business book that I could find. So, enjoy skimming through the covers, vote for things you've read, and I hope you find something useful in here. (:

365 Grateful / 365 Inspired

I found a wonderful video online that explains a very happy mini movement that's quietly spreading like wildfire. Enjoy, 365 Grateful:

You may have noticed that the title of this blog isn't just 365 Grateful... It's 365 Inspired too! It's quite common nowadays to look for inspiration online - through Google Image searches, other people's blogs, their work, etc. But there is so much inspiration available in our everyday lives that we're overlooking. This inspiration might even be superior than it's online counterparts, as it is personally relative to us; our houses, local shops, friends, family, heartache, etc.

Pinterest: 365 Grateful

I was posting these on my blog, but as they're random photos that aren't posed that nicely, I thought better of it. Instead my 365 Grateful and 365 Inspired will be on Pinterest boards. That way they're available if anyone wants to scroll through, but they're never in anyone's way, or clogging up any of my feeds.

I hope that looking for gratitude and inspiration every day will help change the way I see the world.

Return to the Blog!

I haven't been on my blog in quite some time, which seems like a dreadful thing, but it really isn't.

I wasn't bothering with my kiln (b)log as the digitry that I purchased after graduating from school was right nutty. Recording the information from it would have been a completely useless venture, and would probably have led future kiln artists astray if they were checking a single post for information. So I did us all a favour, and I just avoided writing/thinking about that train wreck in my artistic life!

I'm in the process of returning the defunct digitry for a refund (yay!) and setting up an indiegogo campaign to help fund the purchase of proper digitry (hopefully I didn't pick an awful time of year to do it). As well, later this month I'll be purchasing a tablet with a data plan for promotional purposes at shows, so I'll be able to join the millions of others on the internet who post high-quality photographs of everything they can. My work, my cat, my dinner, my adventures - well, probably not my dinner, don't worry.

So, that's it really! I'm fixing up my blog and my website, and part of my 2014 gameplan this year is to pay proper attention to both of them, so I'll see you soon. <3

Until then, I'm always more active on my Facebook Page.

Elora, Ontario: Craft & Vendor Sale

I know I am a little behind on all my hundreds of photos I need to post, but golly trust me when I say April was a busy, busy month!

Saturday was the climax of everything - at 5 AM I woke up to drive a friend visiting from the states to the airport, then I went straight to my first craft sale at Sheridan College for the open house (and I did quite well, thank you!), then I ran home, changed, and came back to Sheridan so I could graduate! By the by, I took home three awards ;) It was quite the fantastic experience.

Yesterday was my niece's first birthday, and right after that was done and my sugar rush was gone, I sat myself down in front of the computer and searched for every possible craft show I could find!

Needless to say, the first one is this Saturday, May the 4th!

Dear Zodd, trust me when I say that I hope some of my ebay orders show up before then!
